Richard C Chang, MD


 
Alice Chang Hoftman, MD
Rheumatology
Dr. Alice Chang Hoftman recently joined the Rheumatology Division of PSF. Dr. Chang Hoftman is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric rheumatology. She received her medical degree from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago. Her residency and rheumatology fellowship training were completed at Mattel Children's Hospital at the University of California, Los Angeles. Dr. Chang Hoftman has special interests in Pediatric SLE. Dr. Chang Hoftman speaks fluent Spanish and conversational Mandarin. She is available to see patients at CHOC.

 
Michele M Cheung, MD
Infectious Diseases
Michele Cheung, MD MPH, FAAP is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric infectious diseases. She completed medical school at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dr. Cheung completed her pediatrics residency training at University of California, Irvine, Medical Center, and her pediatrics infectious diseases fellowship training at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). She also has completed a preventive medicine residency at UCSF/UC Berkeley. Her focus is on communicable diseases in public health.

 
Susan J Clark, MD
Endocrinology
Susan Clark, M.D. is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric endocrinology and diabetes. Dr. Clark is the Medical Director of Endocrinology at CHOC and is the PSF Chief of the Endocrinology and Diabetes Division. She has a special interest in thyroid disorders in neonates and children. Dr. Clark completed medical school and her residency at Loma Linda University School of Medicine, and her fellowship at UC San Francisco.

 
John P Cleary, MD
Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine
John Cleary, MD, specializes in all aspects of neonatal intensive care and is the physician leader of the ECMO (extracorporeal membrane oxygenation) and Neonatal Cardiovascular Intensive Care teams. His research interests include synchronized mechanical ventilation, high frequency ventilation, pulmonary hypertension and non-invasive monitoring. Dr. Cleary is board certified in both pediatrics and neonatal-perinatal medicine. He served his fellowship through the University of California, San Diego. He completed his residency and internship at the University of Massachusetts School of Medicine in Worcester, where he received his medical training.

Mark W Daniels, MD
Endocrinology
Mark Daniels, M.D. is board certified in pediatrics and in pediatric endocrinology. He has expertise in diagnosis and management of growth, puberty and bone mineral disorders and in the management of diabetes mellitus. Dr. Daniels completed his residency and his fellowship training at the Lucile Salter Packard Children's Hospital at Stanford.

 
Saar Danon, MD
Cardiology
Saar Danon, M.D. is a pediatric cardiologist with specialized expertise in cardiac catheterization and intervention. Dr. Danon is board certified in both pediatrics and pediatric cardiology. He received his medical degree from UCLA School of Medicine, and did his residency in Pediatrics at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. Dr. Danon completed his fellowship in pediatric cardiology at UCLA School of Medicine, and then trained for an additional year in pediatric cardiac catheterization and intervention at San Diego Children?s Hospital/UCSD. His major interests include the treatment of children with heart disease utilizing non-surgical, catheter-based techniques, as well as developing new, minimally invasive treatment options. Dr. Danon speaks Hebrew and Spanish.

 
Vijay Dhar, MD
Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine
Vijay Dhar, M.D. specializes in neonatal critical care, with particular interests in cytokines, nitric oxide, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) and high-frequency oscillating ventilation (HFOV) performed at CHOC. Dr. Dhar serves as the Medical Director of the CHOC Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and the Administrative Chief of the PSF Neonatology Division. Dr. Dhar is board certified in both pediatrics and neonatal-perinatal medicine. He completed his fellowship training at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, and UCI Medical Center in Orange. He received his medical training at the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research in Chandigarh, India, and served his residency and internship at All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Chandigarh, and Gauhati Medical College in Gauhati, respectively. Dr. Dhar serves as the Vice President of Pediatric Subspecialty Faculty.

 
Michele B Domico, MD
Critical Care
Michele Domico, M.D. provides the full range of tertiary-level critical care procedures, with expertise in pediatric cardiac intensive care. She is board certified in both pediatrics and pediatric critical care medicine. Dr. Domico worked in London at the world-renowned Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children as a Senior Fellow in pediatric cardiac intensive care/ ECMO. She completed her pediatric critical care fellowship at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center and Children?s Hospital of Orange County. She also had additional fellowship training in pediatric cardiology at the University of Florida Health Science Center. Dr. Domico attended medical school and completed her internship and residency at University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. She is also a published clinical researcher with an interest in post-operative cardiac care.

 
Joseph H Donnelly, MD
Neurology
Dr. Joseph Donnelly received his medical degree at Georgetown University. He completed an internship and residency in pediatrics at the Boston City Hospital. In addition, he completed a fellowship in pediatric neurology at Boston City Hospital-Boston University and Harvard University Neurology Units. Dr. Donnelly is board certified in neurology with special qualification in child neurology, neurodevelopmental disabilities and pediatrics. He is affiliated with the Child Neurology Society, the American Academy Neurology and the American Academy of Pediatrics.

 
Naser M Elbalalesy, MD
Neurology
Pediatric Neurologist, Naser Elbalalesy, MD, treats the full spectrum of pediatric neurological conditions and disorders, with special interest in epileptology, seizures, anticonvulsant therapies, headaches, including migraines, and ADHD. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in the specialty of Neurology with Special Qualification in Child Neurology.

Dr. Elbalalesy completed his fellowship training in epilepsy and clinical neurophysiology at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville, Virginia. He completed his residency at Overlook Hospital in Summit, New Jersey, a teaching affiliate of Columbia University College of Surgeons and Physicians. He also completed a pediatric neurology Residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. Dr. Elbalalesy attended medical school at Tanta University in Tanta, Egypt.

Chief of the PSF Allergy & Immunology Division, Director of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology Program at CHOC, and a member of the St. Joseph Hospital Nasal and Sinus Center, Mark Ellis, M.D. specializes in the treatment and management of allergies and asthma, including specialized care for sinusitis. Dr. Ellis is board certified in pediatrics and in allergy, asthma and immunology. Dr. Ellis is a principal investigator for many clinical research studies for both adults and children, concerning new treatments for asthma and allergies. He served his fellowship at UCI Medical Center in Orange. He completed his internship and residency through the University of Arizona Health Sciences Center in Phoenix. Dr. Ellis graduated from the Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans.

 
Samuel D Esparza, MD
Oncology
Samuel D. Esparza, M.D. is a pediatric hematologist/oncologist who attended medical school at the University of California, Los Angeles School of Medicine. He also completed his residency in pediatrics and his fellowship in pediatric hematology/oncology at Mattel Children?s Hospital/UCLA. In addition, as a Specialty Training and Advanced Research Fellow at UCLA, he worked in cellular and molecular pathology. Dr. Esparza is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric hematology/oncology. Dr. Esparza is fluent in Spanish. His philosophy of care is to provide the best possible care with compassion and competence to all patients regardless of race, creed, color, or economic background.

 
Timothy K Flannery, MD
Endocrinology
Dr. Tim Flannery is board certified in pediatrics and in pediatric endocrinology and diabetes. He has a special interest in diabetes and growth disorders in children. He completed his fellowship in pediatric endocrinology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. Dr. Flannery completed his residency training at Loma Linda University Medical Center. He attended medical school at Oral Roberts University School of Medicine in Oklahoma.

 
Glenn Fowler, MD
Neurology
Dr. Glenn Fowler received his Medical Degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine. He completed his internship training at SP Memorial in San Francisco and completed his residency at USC-LA County Hospital. Dr. Fowler also completed NIH Child Neurology fellowships at Northwestern University School of Medicine in Chicago and Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.

Dr. Fowler is affiliated with the University of California, Irvine. His honors include membership in Alpha Omega Alpha. He is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in Neurology with Special Qualifications in Child Neurology and by the American Board of Pediatrics.

 
Joshua G Gibbs, DO
Allergy/Immunology
Dr. Joshua Gibbs treats patients of all ages with asthma, allergic or immunologic conditions. He is board certified in internal medicine and in allergy/immunology. Dr. Gibbs served as Chief Fellow during his allergy/immunology fellowship at Penn State University in Hershey, PA. He completed an internal medicine residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. His osteopathic rotating internship was performed at Crozer-Keystone Health System in Delaware County, Pennsylvania. Dr. Gibbs graduated from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Philadelphia. His special interests include treating patients with hereditary angioedema, drug allergy, rhinitis, asthma and chronic rhino sinusitis.

 
Sherwin A Gillman, MD

Member of the St. Joseph Hospital Nasal and Sinus Center, Dr. Gillman specializes in the treatment and management of childhood asthma and allergies. He is board certified in pediatrics and in allergy, asthma and immunology. He has expertise in caring for food and bee sensitivities and in minimizing the impact of allergies on school performance. Dr. Gillman is also a principal investigator for many clinical research studies concerning new treatments for asthma and allergies. Additionally, he serves as medical director of the annual summer camp for asthmatic children sponsored by the American Lung Association. Dr. Gillman received his fellowship training at LA County/USC Medical Center in Los Angeles and completed his medical training, internship and residency through the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago.

Medical Director of the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at CHOC at Mission in Mission Viejo, Gary Goodman, M.D. specializes in pediatric critical care with expertise in the treatment of shock, RSV and traumatic brain injury. He is board certified in both pediatrics and pediatric critical care medicine. Dr. Goodman served his fellowship at Children's Hospital of Orange County. Medical Director of the CHOC at Mission Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Stephen Hanten, M.D. specializes in the care of pre-term infants. His residency and internship were completed at Children's Hospital of Orange County and at the University of California, Irvine, respectively. Medical Director of the CHOC Cystic Fibrosis Center, David Hicks, M.D. is also Medical Director of Neonatalogy at Irvine Medical Center and Medical Director of HealthBridge Children?s Rehabilitation Hospital. Dr. Hicks specializes in treating and managing the full spectrum of related disorders. Dr. Hicks served his fellowship and residency at UCI Medical Center and Children?s Hospital of Orange County, both in Orange. He completed his internship at Metropolitan Hospital in New York City. Dr. Hicks is a graduate of the University of California, Irvine College of Medicine. He is board certified in three areas of pediatric medicine: pediatrics, pediatric pulmonology and neonatology.

Dr. Hillyard attended medical school at the University of California, San Francisco. He completed both his internship and residency at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. He performed a Neonatal fellowship at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. He is affiliated with the American Academy of Pediatrics. His honors include the Munzer family Award for excellence in research and teaching. Dr. Hillyard is board certified in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine. His philosophy of care is having the privilege to be trusted with the care of your child. His special interests include a wide range of critically ill newborns including those with extreme prematurely, congenital heart disease and severe pulmonary hypertension. He has produced both basic science and clinical research, and is actively teaching newborn critical care and in the CHOC residency and fellowship programs.

 
Loan B Hsieh, MD
Hematology
Loan B. Hsieh, MD specializes in all aspects of hematology with an emphasis in Factor 13 deficiency, a rare bleeding disorder. Dr. Hsieh completed her fellowship in pediatric hematology/oncology and her residency in pediatrics at Children's Hospital of Orange County. She received her medical training at the Medical College of Virginia, Richmond, Virginia. Dr. Hsieh is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric hematology/oncology. Dr. Hsieh is fluent in Vietnamese.

 
Taosheng Huang, MD

Dr. Huang received his MD degree from the Fujian Medical University, his PhD in Biomedical Sciences from Mt. Sinai School of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency in pediatrics at Georgetown University Medical Center, and his clinical genetics and clinical molecular genetics fellowship at Harvard Medical School.

Dr. Huang is Board Certified in general pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics, in clinical genetics and clinical molecular genetics by the American Board of Medical Genetics.

He is affiliated with UCI and received the UCI Dean's Physician-Scientist Award. He is also fluent in Chinese (Mandarin).

Dr. Ismail served as a Child Neurology Fellow at St. Louis Children's Hospital. He served as Chief Resident in Neurology at Barnes Hospital in the adult neurology program. Dr. Ismail completed his neurology training at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri in the Department of Neurology and Neurological Surgery. He spent fifteen months as a child neurology fellow at the Medical College of Ohio. Dr. Ismail did his training in general pediatrics at Hurley Medical Center in Flint, Michigan, a program affiliated with Michigan State University. Dr. Ismail has been in private practice from October 1987 to present.

She attended medical school and graduate school at the University of California, Irvine, CA, where she received both her medical and Ph.D. degrees. Dr. Jones is fluent in Mandarin, Taiwanese and medical Spanish.

Neonatologist Shahid Kamran, M.D. provides the full range of neonatal critical care services. Dr. Kamran is board certified in pediatrics and neonatal-perinatal medicine. Mitchell H Katz, MD
Gastroenterology
Medical Director of the CHOC Gastroenterology & Nutrition Program, as well as PSF Chief of Gastroenterology & Nutrition, Mitchell Katz, M.D. provides care for the full spectrum of pediatric disorders, specializing in pediatric intestinal and liver diseases. Dr. Katz is board certified in both pediatrics and pediatric gastroenterology. He completed a fellowship in pediatric gastroenterology and nutrition at the University of California San Francisco. In addition, Dr. Katz served a fellowship in ambulatory pediatrics as well as his residency and internship at Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York City. He received his medical training from State University of New York at Downstate Medical School, Brooklyn, New York.

 
Nafiz M Kiciman, MD

Dr. Kiciman attended medical school at Hacettepe University. He completed both his Internship and his Residency at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. He received Fellowship training in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine and in Cardiology from the University of California, San Diego. Dr. Kiciman is board certified in Pediatrics, Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine and Pediatric Cardiology. He also speaks Turkish.

 
Virginia E Kimonis, MD

Dr. Kimonis received her medical degree from Southampton Medical School, Southampton, UK. She completed residencies in pediatrics and general practice in the United Kingdom before moving to the US. She completed a residency in pediatrics at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston and fellowship training in clinical and biochemical genetics at the National Institutes of Health, John's Hopkins and Washington DC Children's Hospital.

Dr. Kimonis' clinical research interests are varied. She is actively working with the NIH sponsored Rare Diseases Clinical Research Network research in the Natural History study of Prader Willi and Morbid Obesity syndromes. She is studying inherited muscle disorders that occur in combination with diseases of bone and/or dimentia in her laboratory. Her group identified the VCP gene for one of these disorders and is now characterizing the key pathways and functions in this disorder. Dr. Kimonis' goal is to work towards establishing a premier clinical, educational and research genetics program at CHOC Children's.

The doctor is board certified in Clinical Biomedical Genetics and Clinical Genetics by the American Board of Medical Genetics and in Pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics.

 
Ivan I Kirov, MD
Oncology
Ivan Kirov, M.D. is a pediatric hematologist/oncologist specializing in bone marrow transplantation. He is the Director of the Recurrent Cancer Program and Palliative Care Program. Dr. Kirov is board certified in pediatric hematology/oncology. He received his medical training at the Medical Academy in Sofia, Bulgaria, where he completed a fellowship in hematology/oncology. He served his residency at New York Medical College in Valhalla and completed his second hematology/oncology fellowship at Children?s Hospital of Orange County.

Co-Director of the CHOC Transport Program, Jason Knight, MD is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric critical care. He received his medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia. Dr. Knight completed his residency training, including a year as Chief Resident, at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. His fellowship training in critical care medicine was completed at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center and Children's Hospital of Orange County (CHOC). Dr. Knight has special interest in congenital heart disease, ARDS, and transport medicine.

 
Sudeep Kukreja, MD

Sudeep Kukreja, M.D. is the Medical Director of the Newborn Hearing Screening Program at CHOC Children's and CHOC Children's at Mission. Dr. Kukreja provides the full spectrum of neonatal critical care, with special interests in the management of high-risk infants, apnea and newborn hearing. He is board certified in neonatal-perinatal medicine. Dr. Kukreja served his fellowship and residency at UCI Medical Center in Orange and at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, respectively. He completed his internship and medical training at King George's Medical College in Lucknow, India. Dr. Kukreja also speaks Hindi, Punjabi and Urdu. Dr. Kukreja is a member of the PSF Board of Directors.

Dr. Kurlawalla-Martinez has specialized training in neonatology. She is board certified in pediatrics and neonatal-perinatal medicine. She completed her pediatric residency at King-Drew Medical Center in Los Angeles and completed her fellowship training in neonataology at Mattel Children's Hospital at UCLA. Patricia Liao, M.D. has joined the Critical Care Division of the PSF. She is board certified in pediatrics and board eligible in pediatric critical care. She completed her critical care fellowship training at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles. Dr. Liao completed her pediatric residency training at Children's Hospital of Orange County. She obtained her medical degree from Northwestern University in Chicago where she was awarded the Albert Schweitzer Fellowship. Dr. Liao's special interests include congenital heart disease, telemedicine, and community outreach. Dr. Liao is fluent in Spanish and conversational Mandarin and Hakka. She is available for inpatient consultations at CHOC, CHOC at Mission and other selected Orange County Hospitals

 
Anthony Liu, MD
Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine
Anthony Liu, M.D. is board certified in pediatrics and neonatal-perinatal medicine. He received his medical degree from the University of Vermont College of Medicine, and his residency and fellowship training were completed at the Loma Linda University Medical Center. Dr. Liu has special interests in medical informatics and patients with retinopathy of prematurity.

 
Ira T Lott, MD
Neurology
Ira T. Lott, M.D. is the Division Chief of PSF Neurology and the Medical Director of Neurology at CHOC. Dr. Lott is also a Professor of Pediatrics and Neurology at the UCI School of Medicine. He was Chairman of the UCI's Department of Pediatrics from 1990-2000, and since 2000, he has served at UCI as Associate Dean of Clinical Neuroscience.

Dr. Lott graduated from Ohio State University College of Medicine and received his training in pediatrics, neurology and child neurology at the Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School. He was clinical director of the Eunice Kennedy Shriver Center for Mental Retardation at Harvard from 1974-1982, and has also served as a clinical research associate at the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development.

Dr. Lott's primary research interest is in the neurology of developmental disabilities. He is the director of the Scientific Advisory Board of the National Down Syndrome Society in New York. He received the national research award from the Down Syndrome Society in 2004 and the Christian Pueschel Memorial Research Award from the National Down Syndrome Congress in 2005. In addition, he received the 2005 Spotlight Award from the California State Senate for his work with the developmentally disabled.

He has been listed as a Physician of Excellence by the Orange County Medical Association and has recieved "Best Doctor" status by several national review committees.

 
Paul S Lubinsky, MD

Associate Director of the PICU at both CHOC and at CHOC at Mission in Mission Viejo, Paul Lubinsky, M.D. specializes in pediatric critical care with expertise in the treatment of respiratory failure, traumatic brain injury and cardiac intensive care. He is board certified in both pediatrics and pediatric critical care medicine. He completed his fellowship at Children?s Hospital of Orange County and served as Chief Resident at UCI Medical Center in Orange. Dr. Lubinsky received his medical training and completed an internship at the University of Cape Town in South Africa. He is President of the Pediatric Subspecialty Faculty.

Dr. McGuire specializes in providing all aspects of pediatric care for the Hospitalist Service at CHOC. He enjoys teaching residents and has a special clinical interest in treating children with asthma. He received the CHOC Teacher of the Year award in 2002. Dr. McGuire is fluent in Spanish and is board certified in pediatrics. Recent publications include chapters on nephrotic syndrome and acute renal failure in the Pediatric Hospital Medicine textbook. He completed his residency at Children?s Hospital of Orange County and received his medical training at the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine. Dr. McGuire is also the Director of Medical Informatics at CHOC.

Dr. Morkous is board certified in pediatrics and board certified in child neurology. Dr. Morkous completed a combined fellowship training in child and adult neurology at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC). Dr. Morkous completed his pediatric residency training at Tod Children?s Hospital, North Eastern Ohio Universities College Of Medicine (NEOUCOM) in Youngstown Ohio. He also completed a combined residency training in internal medicine, anesthesiology and psychiatry at the Ministry of Health Teaching Hospitals in Egypt. Medical Director of CHOC Pulmonary Medicine, Respiratory Therapy and Blood Gas Laboratory Services and Administrative Chief of the PSF Division of Pulmonology, Bruce Nickerson M.D. is also Medical Director of the Asthma Chronic Lung Disease collaboration between CHOC and UCI, as well as Medical Co-Director of Pediatric Sub-Acute Services at Whittier Hospital Medical Center. Dr. Nickerson has special expertise in treating cystic fibrosis and providing fiberoptic bronchoscopy. Dr. Nickerson received his MD degree at UCLA and completed both his residency and internship through the University of Arizona in Tucson. He did his fellowship at Children's Hospital of Los Angeles. Dr. Peng provides care for the full range of neurological conditions, with special interest in pediatric neuromuscular disease and Electromyography/Nerve Conduction Studies (EMG/NCV) in children. She is certified by the American Board of Pediatric Neurology and the Clinical Neurophysiology Subspecialty Board. Dr. Peng completed medical school at the Shanghai Medical University in China/University of Kansas Co-education Program. She did her internship in pediatrics and her residency in neurology at UCI. Her fellowships are in clinical neurophysiology at UCI and in neuroscience/molecular biology research at Northwestern University.

She completed her pediatric internship and residency training at Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center and her fellowship in pediatric hematology/oncology at Children?s Hospital of Orange County. As a research fellow, her focus was on new therapeutic targets for osteosarcoma. She has special interests in sarcomas and the histiocytic disorders.

Division Chief for PSF Ophthalmology, Dr. David Sami is board certified in Ophthalmology. Following medical school and internship at UCLA, his residency in Ophthalmology was at the California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco. Dr. Sami completed two fellowships in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus: A combined research and clinical fellowship at the Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children in London, England; and a second at the Harvard fellowship program of Children's Hospital Boston. His academic and research interests include development of the visual system, motility of ocular prostheses, hereditary and systemic eye disorders of childhood, and retinopathy of prematurity.

Sanford Schneider, M.D. FAAN, FAAP, provides care for the full range of neurological conditions. He is board certified in Child Neurology, Neurology, Neurodevelopmental Disabilities, and Pediatrics. Dr. Schneider completed medical school at the New York University School of Medicine in New York and interned at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina. He completed his pediatric residency at Babies Hospital, Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center in New York followed by a pediatric neurology and neurology fellowship at the Neurological Institute of Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center, New York.

Dr. Schneider was the former Professor and Director of the Division of Child Neurology at the Loma Linda School of Medicine, Loma Linda, California and was the Presbyterian Health Professor and Director of the Division of Child Neurology at the University of Oklahoma School of Medicine, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He is presently Clinical Professor of Neurology and Pediatrics, Loma Linda University School of Medicine. Dr. Schneider was elected as a Fellow of the American Neurological Association, and is a Fellow of both the American Academies of Neurology and Pediatrics. He is scheduled to receive the New York University School of Medicine Alumni of the Year Award in October, 2007.

Dr. Schneider has special interest in neurological disorders, particularly epilepsy, headache, and genetic disorders of children and adolescents until the age of 18.

Dr. Soni recently joined the PSF Division of Hematology. Amit Soni, M.D. is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric hematology/oncology. Dr. Soni completed medical school at Saint George's University in Grenada, West Indies. His residency training was completed at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and fellowship training was completed at Children?s Hospital of Orange County. After completing his fellowship, Dr. Soni worked as a hemostasis/thrombosis clinical research fellow at Children?s Hospital of Orange County and earned additional certification in a UCI graduate program in clinical trials and product development. In addition to his clinical duties with PSF, he will continue his research studies. Dr. Soni has special interest in Hemophilia and other bleeding disorders. Raymond Wang, MD is a member of the PSF metabolic division and is board certified in both biochemical genetics and pediatrics. His major interests include inborn errors of metabolism, especially the lysosomal storage disorders. Dr. Wang has performed research on Fabry disease, determining the symptomatology of females with the disorder and participating as an investigator in a clinical trial for a novel treatment of the disease. He is currently in the process of establishing a lysosomal storage disorder clinic at the Children's Hospital of Orange County. Dr. Wang attended medical school at the University of California-Los Angeles. He completed his residency in pediatrics and medical genetics as well as a fellowship in clinical biochemical genetics at the University of California-Los Angeles/Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
